  • Potential Gobert trades?

The en vogue thing seems to be finding ways to trade for Rudy Gobert this offseason. Here are some of the suggestions being made on various sites:

    Boston gets: Rudy Gobert
Utah gets: 2020 first-round pick, Marcus Smart, Robert Williams III, Daniel Theis, and Romeo Langford

    OR

    Boston Gets Rudy Gobert
Utah gets: Romeo Langford, Daniel Theis, 2020 #14 and #26

    OR

Boston gets: Rudy Gobert, Tony Bradley, Georges Niang
Utah gets: Gordon Hayward, Daniel Theis, 2020 #14 pick

    OR

Boston gets: Rudy Gobert, Bojan Bogdanovic
Utah gets: Gordon Hayward, 2020 #26 and #30

    OR

Boston gets: Rudy Gobert, Doug McDermott
Indiana gets: Gordon Hayward, 2020 #14 pick (from Celtics), 2020 #23 pick (from Jazz)
Utah gets: Myles Turner, T.J. Warren, 2020 #30 pick (from Celtics)

In true Boston fashion for all these options, the Celtics make out like bandits on every single trade presentation. Good thing the free agency period will be short....Ugh.

But the ideas don't stop there. Google helped drum up several other trade ideas for Gobert to other teams:

Hornets get Rudy Gobert, 2020 #23 pick
Jazz get Cody Zeller, Malik Monk, 2020 #3 pick, 2022 2nd round pick

    OR

Hornets get Rudy Gobert, 2020 #23 pick
Jazz get Terry Rozier, Cody Martin, 2022 1st round, 2024 1st round pick

    OR

    Spurs get Rudy Gobert
Jazz get sign and trade Jakob Poeltl (3 yr $34.5 mill), and needed among Rudy Gay, Patty Mills, and LaMarcus Aldridge

    OR

Hawks get Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles
Jazz get Clint Capela, DeAndre Hunter, Kevin Huerter, 2020 #6 pick

OR--for the worst one of them all:

76ers get Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert
Jazz get Joel Embiid, Josh Richardson, 2020 #21 pick, 2021 1st round pick

I need to step away from the keyboard for a while....

Here are more general NBA trade rumors as the trade window may be opening in the next week:

Houston is looking to move Russell Westbrook and teams interested are Knicks and Clippers. Knicks have the cap room to absorb his salary.

Cleveland is finding no market for moving Kevin Love. He has declined but his contract is over $30 mill and has 3 years remaining.

Denver is interested in Jru Holiday, but New Orleans wants Bol Bol in any Holiday trade.

Hoopshype suggests these scenarios for the Jazz this offseason:

            POTENTIAL CAP SPACE: -$9.3 million

AGGRESSIVE APPROACH: Trade Joe Ingles, Royce O’Neale and the No. 23 pick for Aaron Gordon. Sign Bobby Portis.

CONSERVATIVE APPROACH: Re-sign Jordan Clarkson, guarantee Georges Niang and Rayjon Tucker’s contracts.

I'd much rather see the aggressive approach than the conservative one here.
