  • Dante Exum will be cleared for contact on Thursday

    http://www.believethehypenba.com/201...th-dante-exum/

On this podcast, he indicated that he is in the late stages of his rehab and will begin playing 1-on-1 or 2-on-2 beginning Thursday, May 26. This is good news. But he will not be playing in the summer league yet.

Re: Dante Exum will be cleared for contact on Thursday

I'm anxious for Exum. His rookie year was promising -- showed a lot of potential but his game wasn't without flaws. His length and defense were his strength, and I think his quickness was a big part of that. Coming off of a knee injury, it obviously won't effect his length, but does it impact his ability to play defense via his quickness. His length is elite at the 1, especially when he's got quickness going for him. If he loses that and can't chase PGs, he loses a big part of what could make him special.

That and his lack of aggression -- did he figure that out at the end of the year? How much did sitting this year and watching help him out?

Like I said... anxious. His combo of size and quickness means he could be a cornerstone piece. Tony Jones from the Trib appears sold. I'm not there. At least not yet. We'll see...

I am concerned about his mindset. He was already tentative. Does he become more so with the injury in the back of his mind?

Not afraid of any of that. Dante was a kid his rookie year. He will likely be hungry and aggressive to prove himself in what will be his actual 2nd year.

                    So many Debbie Downers.

There's nothing to fear but fearlessness.
